The Facilitating Career Development  (FCD) program is an internationally recognized training certificate program for people working with clients/students in career development or job counseling. The 120-hour class meets to prepare you for success in the growing field of career development. This course combines face-to-face training with eLearning to give you the skills you need to work in any type of career development setting.  The FCD title designates individuals working in a variety of career development settings who have met the requirements set forth by the National Career Development Association (NCDA). Those who complete this course are qualified to apply to become a Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP).

Completion of this course allows one to apply for the NCDA's Certified Career Services Provider credential and CCE's Global Career Development Facilitator. .   The course also satisfies the Facilitating Career Development component for NCDA's SCDA Training (leading to NCDA Certified School Career Development Advisor).  Finally, this training satisfies the career specialization requirement for NCDA's Certified Career Counselor Credential.  

The course covers the required sections to qualify for credentials and offers access to more than 300 additional resources.  Additional career topics not included in the NCDA manual are also covered in detail.

Welcome to our elearning based continuing education course.  You may complete this course on your own timeline within 8 weeks of your registration and payment.  After that time, you will be removed from the course.  

You will be awarded 10 contact/clock hours for completing this course.  That means you should plan to spend about 10 hours on the course and its assignments.  

In this course, learners will explore the impact of age on midlife clients.  The learner will explore resources and career information resources especially beneficial for this population. 

When you complete this course, you will be able to:

1 Describe the impact of aging on job seeking and resulting barriers

2.  Be able to debunk myths associated with aging stereotypes and consider appropriate assessments for this population

2. Identify career information resources especially helpful for midlifers.

Each topic has a reading and an assignment that you must complete.  Please post the assignment as indicated.
